Thank You for Supporting Our Fundraiser Dinner!

May 2017 On Point with Pat – Fundraising Success!

A big THANK YOU! To those who attended and supported our Spring Fling fundraiser dinner! You helped us raise over $13,000 for BC Agriculture in the Classroom programs. The programs and resources we build for teachers are very popular because they are hands on lessons. Teachers are excited to explore BC agriculture and food with their students and share the successes with their colleagues as well.

Here are some funding challenges we still have to meet for September 2017:

Take a Bite of BC

The fresh locally grown product for Culinary Arts kitchens is generously donated by BC Farmers. BC AITC needs to cover the distribution costs to 60 BC schools totaling $60,000 annually

Spuds in Tubs

A top hit with BC teachers around the province, in Spuds in Tubs they learn to plant, grow and harvest BC potatoes. There are 188 classes around BC on the waiting list to participate. At $100 per class, the need is $18,800 to get these classes growing!

Planting a Promise

Exploring flower bulbs is delivered to 285 classes annually. To maintain this program for September the cost is $6,000

Harvest Bin Project

Basic education about plant growth and development in a manageable space, harvest bin gardens. This program has completed the pilot and is ready to expand. The funds needed to implement this project are $9,000 annually.

All donations to BC Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation will receive a tax deductible receipt. We are excited to build and grow these programs; together we can build awareness for BC Agriculture.
