Take A Bite of BC – Pilot – September to December 2009

Take A Bite of BC is a program that the BC Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation developed in partnership with the BC Culinary Arts Association, the various BC agricultural commodity groups and producers.

The program provides an opportunity for teaching chefs to feature locally grown product in secondary school teaching kitchens throughout the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley Regional Districts.  Students gain experience working with fresh products and begin to develop an appreciation for farmers in their community as they connect wih the foods that are grown around them and learn about the benefits of eating healthy, fresh, and local.
